PRIDE OF THE GREAT WESTERN
83minutes - 4:3 - PAL - £14.99

The theme of the West Somerset Railway’s Spring Steam Gala of
2005 was “The Pride of the Great Western”. Twelve steam locos of
Swindon pedigree were in action on the branch, a rare sight in
preservation history, and the event was to be the WSR’s most
successful to date.
This production features scenes from all four days of the gala,
filmed at many locations along this 20-mile line from Bishops
Lydeard to Minehead, which was recently voted “Railway of the Year”
in the Ian Allan National Railway Heritage Awards.
Plus... a trip on the footplate of the WSR’s newest steam engine,
photo charters with “City of Truro” and 1450 working a GWR autotrain,
glimpses behind the scenes, “King Edward I” at work on the mainline
in the South West... and much more!
