Railway’s two Spring Steam Gala weekends of March 2006, which
commemorated the 40th anniversary closure of the much loved Somerset
and Dorset Railway.

first time in preservation of the only two remaining Somerset &

The West Somerset Railway’s newly overhauled SDJR 7F no. 88 at
Washford on a driver training day, working Santa Specials from
Bishops Lydeard in December 2005 and at work on the WSR during the
post-Christmas Winter Steam Festival. There are scenes from the
reunion held at Minehead on March 4th 2006 for many former staff of
the Somerset & Dorset, and SDJR 7F no. 53809 is seen on display at
Bath Green Park Station.
