STEAM & DIESEL ON THE WEST SOMERSET
90minutes - 4:3 - PAL - £14.99

This ninety minute, all-digital production looks at the wide variety of motive power to have worked on the West Somerset Railway during special gala events over a period of several years. The trains are filmed in action both from the trackside, and at the beautifully restored stations along this twenty mile line between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead.
Twenty two GWR, LMS, LNER, SR and BR steam locomotives are featured,
with regulars from the railway’s home based fleet being joined by
visiting engines from preservation centres around the country. Nine
diesel engines are seen, plus the unusual sight of a Virgin Trains
Class 220 Voyager visiting the WSR for a naming ceremony.
Events featured are the 2001 ‘Sixties Weekend’, the 2002 & 2003
‘Spring and Autumn Steam Galas’, the 2003 ‘Cross Country Weekend’,
the 2003 ‘Grand Trains Extravaganza’ and the 2003 ‘Winter Steam
Festival’.
